Where was Tin Pan Alley?

The birthplace of much of twentieth-century popular music was Tin Pan Alley.

It was where songwriters plied their trade, actually had two locations, both in New York City.

The first Tin Pan Alley section sprang up around Fourteenth Street; the second was in the Times Square area.
