Dick York leave the TV series “Bewitched” (ABC, 1964-72) primarily for health reasons.
As a result of a back injury during the filming of They Came to Cordura (1959), he developed a degenerative spine condition.
He has also said that he wanted to spend more time with his children and that “the atmosphere on the set of ‘Bewitched’ was extremely unpleasant.” Dick Sargent took over the role of Darrin Stephens.

The stairs in the TV show “Upstairs, Downstairs” were at 165 Eaton Place in London. The house actually filmed was No. 65, but to avoid lawsuits, the producers glued a “1” in front of the “65.”
Dow Chemical originally concentrated its Saran Wrap commercials on “Today” in the early 1950s. Dave Garroway would hold up a piece of the wrap to demonstrate how clear it was.
